We work on a project designing green roofs. Can we please borrow your beautiful drawing as our frontpage? The historic aspect of the slate is way cool! It outs North Lock Farm right up there with other Virginia landmarks!

Comment on Getting closer to breaking ground

I love the slate counters!!

Comment on IKEA Cabinets

Ruben,

Thanks for your message. I appreciate your input on IKEA cabinets. Your experience is very similar to others that I've heard from. I haven't found one single person who has been unhappy with their IKEA cabinets. Given the unbelievably low prices of these cabinets, it really is an easy decision to go with these cabinets.

I had wondered if, since the prices are so low compared to other cabinets, that peoples' quality expectations would be low as well, and therefore easy to exceed. I am now convinced that this is not the case, because not one person has expressed a quality concern, even years after the purchase. Everyone I have heard from has been pleased and said they would buy them again.

Thanks again for your input. See you soon. -BB

Comment on IKEA Cabinets

Bill
As an architect, I've used Ikea cabinets on a few projects including my own house and I have another architect friend that has done the same. I assembled them myself which was straightforward and helped to save on costs. Their hardware has also improved to include silent drawer glides which they didn't have when I purchased the cabinets. Because the parts, accessories and doors are interchangeable, it's easy to modify the design. I hope that helps.
Ruben

Comment on Fenestration and Feedback

Alliterative Fenestration Feedback:
I literally like Level#1 with its fullness of fully functional fenstration where, because of the remote, rural, relegation, you could easily forego fenestral fabrics and enjoy the vast vista envisioned for your visitors.

:-)
Grandad
(Man am I bored!)

Comment on IKEA Cabinets

Our book cases in the living room are from Ikea...we are very happy with them.
